Simply put, I study translation as a right and explore the intersection of language and law to create a just linguistic landscape for ALL involved stakeholdres.

Education

Based in Ohio, I'm a PhD in translation Studies student at Kent State University. My master's (05/24) is in Translation (Arabic) from Kent State University and my bachelor's (2020) is in English Language and Its Literature from the University of Jordan. In 2016, I received an academic excellence award from his Majesty, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and her Majesty, Queen Rania of Jordan.

Professional Experience

I currently (08/2024-Present) teach the Global Literacy and Cultural Awareness course at Kent State Univeristy. In the past, I worked as a Graduate Research Assitant at Kent State Univeristy (2023), an EN<->AR in-house legal and financial translator at PricewaterhouseCoopers (2022), and a freelance EN<->AR translator (2021). I also taught English as a second langauge (2021) and Arabic as a second langauge (2017).
